Birthdays in my class are important.

Today class 1.5 had three birthdays! Lucas, Amanda and Lina all turned 7. Fortunately, Lina was being considerate and brought chocolates for the class (one less cake for Ms. Sunny and me to cut). Lucas and Amanda, however, did not just bring cake for us to cut, they brought the world's fanciest and LARGEST 1st grade birthday cakes possible. How the HECK is one suppose to cut a Barbie cake without destroying Barbie doll?! Lucas's dad showed up just in time to help me cut Barbie, but I was still left to cut the circular pudding cake that was larger than two of my students combined. Lucas now sets the record for biggest birthday cake in class 1.5, but Derrick claims he is going to bring an even bigger cake next Wednesday for his 7th birthday. Uh oh.
