The Lantern Festival is a celebration of the last day of the Chinese Lunar New Year. My China Studies professor (Professor Huang) brought the entire China Studies class (all international students) to a nearby restaurant for a feast. He used this opportunity to teach all the new students proper Chinese etiquette. For example, he demonstrated how to properly "cheers" with a guest of honor (you should make sure your glass is lower than theirs), he showed us where the guest of honor should sit, he stressed that it is important to wait to eat until the guest of honor has done so, just to name a few...
