My Chinese military training uniform finally came! Thought I would model it for you guys. I have military training every Wednesday morning at 6:30am, so while you're eating you dinner on Tuesday night, think of me marching. Why in the world did I decide to sign up for military training you ask? Well...all of the Chinese students here are REQUIRED to participate in military training at 6:30am on Wednesdays and they absolutely DREAD IT...THEY HATE IT. Meanwhile, all the international students sleep in until noon  and recover from their hangovers on Wednesday (nobody here has classes on Wednesdays). Consequently, international students have the reputation of being "party animals" and not caring as much about their school work. I am not the biggest partier, and I am up anyways at 5:30 every single morning, so I decided this was a good way to make some Chinese friends, earn their respect and create more structure for myself. I want to show my Chinese classmates that not all international students fit their stereotype of "lazy slackers who drink a lot". I know some of you were afraid when I mentioned I was joining Chinese military training. Relax. It is not thatttt intense. Think of it more as an early morning PE class (just in uniform). Yes yes yes, I will be allowed back into the U.S.A and will not be put on a black list. And no, I am not actually joining the Chinese military. So you can all breathe!

I get to keep this uniform for life! What am awesome souvenir...

P.S. I tried the uniform on for my photo session before I attached my official name and school badges, so I posted a picture that shows what the uniform looks like WITH my name badge.

P.P.S. The blog will not be updated again until TUESDAY because I am going to Hong Kong for a Hamilton College alumni reunion - so excited! The next blog post will of course include pictures from the reunion :)
