While I prefer to buy clothing and shoes in America due to the quality and fit, I cannot say the same when it comes to buying glasses. I will never be able to rationalize spending 300 USD on glasses ever again, considering I can get four pairs (including the prescription) for this cost in China. Despite this massive difference in cost, the quality is virtually identical! I bought my mom an awesome pair of funky “Ray Ban” progressive glasses from Shanghai last year, and she said she receives compliments every time she wears them. I got them made in 2 days for only 250 RMB ($40.79). As a result of this success, she has sent me on a mission to purchase more! I spent the afternoon trying on funky frames lined with fun bright colors and provided the shop owner with my mom’s prescription. In three days, I will go back to pick up her three “designer frames”. Make sure to compliment my mom’s “Chanel” sunglasses and “Tom Ford” progressive glasses this summer. They even say “Made in Italy” on the interior. Gotta love China.
