Today I joined an afterschool club for the foreign teachers "Boot camp". One of my friends here holds an exercise club called boot Camp every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after school and it is HARD. We did sprints, crunches, squats, burpees, bear crawls, push-ups, planks for about an hour. There is a group of about 15 of us who will be participating every Mon/Wed/Fri - it's a great way to meet new people and stay fit. I have been running around my campus and will be doing this club, so I am going to hold off on paying a gym membership for now (the memberships here are not cheap! They are pretty much the same as U.S. prices). Today I ran 7 miles around my campus (yes, it's that big) and the air quality was pretty good. The campus is filled with trees everywhere, so it helps with the pollution.
After Boot Camp, we all went out to dinner near my school for some Chinese style food. Nobody else spoke Chinese, so I ordered for everyone. I ordered us a big variety - a sizzling beef dish, spicy tofu, soup, peanut chicken, bak choy and mushrooms, spicy eggplant, etc. It was sooo tasty! Everyone had a great time and we devoured all of the food. You are really suppose to always leave a little left on the plate to show that you are full and don't need more food, but us Americans have a hard time with that...
After dinner, we all walked around the neighborhood and bought some essentials...My friend Alba was on the hunt for foot odor spray ha, Casey and Max wanted beers and I wanted some seaweed for breakfast tomorrow - so we all found what we were looking for (I was the translator, as usual).
In the photo below from left to right is Jose, Casey, JoJo, Candice, me, Max, and Alba. (Just so you can start putting names and faces together).
Off to plan tomorrow's "Personal Growth" lesson.
Sweet dreams!
