I love my new room. IKEA really spices things up. I feel so cozy and at-home now. I now have a comfy bed, and a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Monday night potluck dinners in my apartment start tonight!
My room is clutter-free, simple and everything has a proper home now just how I like it :) ...I do miss having a dryer though (my wet clothes are spread throughout the room as you can see below).
This weekend was a LOT of fun- lots of partying and meeting new people. Friday night my friends and I went out to this trendy Thai restaurant and then went to this on-campus bar (one guy here turned his entire apartment into a bar and bar tends and invites all the foreign teachers - we all just give him a few bucks to keep the bar running. Saturday night we went to this Japanese restaurant in the French Consession and then went to Oscars (a pub in the French Concession) for my friend Nate's birthday.
Great social life here! I love love love my new friends I have met; I already feel like we have all known each other for years. I will be sure to take pictures next weekend so I can show you all the fabulous Shanghai nightlife.
I am loving my job, new friends, apartment, Chinese food, and Shanghai in general more and more everyday. Wish you were all just a bit closer and that you could enjoy this amazing city with me!
