Everything in China is a process...sometimes lacking order and a logical procedure. I am not putting China down; this is just common knowledge when you live here. It is essential that you approach all logistal tasks with patience and flexibility, otherwise you are doomed to feel frustrated by the order-less chaos. Today, all the foreign students had to meet with local police officers to get our residence permits extended for the following school year. One by one, students took an envelop of documents to submit to the officers, praying that all documents were present and correct. Fortunately, I completed the residence permit process without failure! Yay. I am now passport-less until after June 20th, however, so no Hong Kong trips for a few weeks.
