Xichong Beach (Pictures below)

Greetings!

Today, all of the first year Chinese and international students took a field trip to Xichong Beach in Shenzhen. I had no idea Shenzhen was home to such beautiful beaches! It was quite clean, sandy, and the bright blue water felt pretty warm. The mountains surrounding the beaches made it even more picturesque.

We left campus at noon and took a 2 hour bus to the beach. We were there until 9pm! It was definitely a full day. We had some unstructured free time, followed by organized obstacle course activities and an international students versus Chinese students tug of war. We won, woo woo! (Most likely because the international students have more total body weight than our Chinese peers...)

After all of the obstacle course events, we had a Chinese-style dinner at the beach inside of a boathouse...lots of seafood! As you can see, the fish was fresh from the sea ;)

Before heading back to campus, we had a talent show performance in which Chinese students sang and danced. One brave international student (Kayem from Tunisia) performed the violin.

I am just getting back to campus now...EXHAUSTED!

Night night xoxo,

Alexandra
