YangCheng Lake Run 10K

Hey everyone!

Today was an awesome day. I got up early and 7 of my friends and I took a bus to run our first Shanghai road race. It was a beautiful 6 mile run around YangCheng Lake. It was quite different and far less competitive than the NYC races I'm used to. Clearly I wasn't running as hard as I could, considering I was photography the whole run haha. It was fun to just run a race with my friends and enjoy the scenery. Following the race was an all-you-can eat buffet at the 5-star YangCheng Lake Hotel with every kind of food imaginable. I loaded up on dragon fruit - my new favorite food. We were all exhausted from the race and food coma we got ourselves in, so the 8 of us slept the whole bus ride back to school. I love my new group of runner friends- they're very down to earth and easy going. We all signed up to do the Shanghai Half Marathon together on December 1st and we will all be doing the Grest Wall Marathon together in May. I am so happy I can continue my running hobby in China- it is my meditation and puts me in such a good mood. A day without a nice run feels incomplete.
